Motor sports have been a passion of Ralph Borelli’s for many years. Ralph holds a vintage racing license, issued by the SCCA, and is also a member of the Green Flag Driving Association and the Nor-Cal Shelby Club.

In 1999, Ralph purchased the #22-Maxwell House car — a 1991 Ford Thunderbird, which raced on the Winston Cup circuit from 1991 to 1993, and captured the pole position at the Daytona 500 in 1992. The car has been restored to its original racing condition and is currently being raced in Historic Stock Car Racing Series (HSCRS) in events up and down the West Coast.

Dynamic Duo

The dynamic duo of Club Auto Sport founders — John Davis and Ralph Borelli — is also taking to the track with a dynamic duo of vintage race cars: a pair of 1984 Lola-Mazda T-616 GTP cars. These sleek, rotary-powered, 300 horsepower cars made motor sports history in 1984 when they carried the BF Goodrich-Mazda-Jim Busby team to the first-ever win for a Japanese manufacturer at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The cars have been fully restored to their exact period specifications, and Ralph and John will be behind the wheel of the #67 and #68 Lola-Mazdas this year at a number of famous tracks including Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Portland International Raceway, and Sears Point Raceway.

Driven to Help

Borelli Motor Sports and Borelli Investment Company have been driving forces behind HSCRS Ride of Your Life — an opportunity to experience the thrill of auto racing first-hand, while contributing to many worthwhile causes. Rides in Ralph’s #22 Maxwell House car have been donated for a number of auctions held by schools and charitable organizations to help raise needed funds. Borelli Investment Company also offers special rides from time to time to brokers and other business associates as promotional incentives.
