Perry Richardson — an up-and-coming, young race car driver — brings his experience as a professional driver and mechanic to the team at Borelli Motor Sports, where he has taken a position as service technician and driving coach.
Perry just completed the 2009 season on the highly regarded VW Jetta TDI Clean Diesel Racing Series. Perry was one of only 30 drivers chosen out of 4,300 applicants to run identical VW Jetta TDIs, powered by clean biodiesel. Before that, he competed in the D Sports Car Class at both the Regionals and Nationals sponsored by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Perry had six Top 3 finishes regionally, including four 1st Place finishes — and he finished 7th in the National runoffs. Perry started his racing career in 2007 running in the San Francisco region of the SCCA, where he was named Rookie of the Year.
While he’s young, Perry also has considerable experience and training as a mechanic. He built cars from the ground up with his father, and he graduated from Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo with a degree in automotive technology. He joins Chief Mechanic Scott Riechers as part of a highly professional team that provides excellent maintenance, repairs, and tuning to prep cars for the track.
Perry graduated from Los Gatos High School, and he currently resides in Los Gatos as well.
